CABBAGE SOUP DIET
1-2 cans tomatoes cut beans green peppers 6 green onions 1 large can beef broth 1 packet onion soup mix 1 bunch of celery 1 large head of cabbage 1 kg (2lbs) carrots Season with salt, pepper, curry, parsley, bouillon or hot sauce. Use any or all of these as desired. Boil fast for ten minutes then reduce to a simmer and continue cooking until vegies are tender. This soup is to be eaten whenever you are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. The more you eat, the more you lose. If eaten alone for a long time you would suffer from malnutrition. Drinks:Unsweetened fruit juice, tea, black coffee, cranberry juice, skim milk or water Day ONE: Eat only the soup and fruit this day. NO Bananas. Day TWO: Eat vegetables and soup this day. Eat until you are stuffed with fresh raw vegetables or canned vegetables. Try to eat green leafy vegetables and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Reward yourself with a baked potato and butter. Day THREE: Eat all the soup, fruit and vegetables you want. NO Baked Potato today. If you haven't cheated you will have lost between 1.5kg & 2.5kg (3-5 pounds) Day FOUR: Bananas, skim milk & Soup. Up to 3 bananas and drink as much skim milk as you can on this day along with the soup. Day FIVE: Beef and tomatoes & Soup. You may have 200-400gms (10-20 oz)of beef and a can of tomatoes, or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes today. Try to drink 6-8 glasses of water to wash out the uric acid in your body. Day SIX: Beef, vegetables & Soup. Eat your hearts content of beef and vegetables today. You can have 2-3 steaks if you like with the green leafy vegies. NO Baked Potato Today Day SEVEN:Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice, vegetables and Soup. Stuff yourself again today. Definite NO NO's: bread, alcohol, carbonated drinks (diet sodas included!!!!), fried foods Without cheating you should have lost 5-8.5kg (10-17lbs). If you have lost more than 7.5kgs (15lbs) stay off the diet for one day before starting over. Stop the diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol. You can substitute things, by all reports, if there are things you don't like in this recipe for other negative calorie veggies. Omit whatever you dont like, or add more veggies if you like, just be careful that you don't add any starchy veggies like potatoes or corn, etc, check the WW points for veggies, and it they are 0 point veggies, you can add em. I put some yellow squash in mine, and made it with tomatos with chili peppers in them for flavor. |
| I started this diet four days
ago, 09/09/03. with the intention of following it and sticking to it.
After three days of the diet, I was feeling kinda headachy and
very, very dehydrated, so I had to stop it. The soup is tasty,
and you will definitely lose weight, at least initially, if you stick
to it, but there are some things to consider first. The diet
consists of lots of veggies and fruits, which cause certain side
effects, namely gas, and sometimes diarrhea.. especially if you make
the mistake of drinking apple juice with it like I did. LOL ...and this
soup had one effect on me that is kind of annoying.. can you say
DIURETIC! Yeah!! I have never spent so much time on the
potty in my life. But, I'm not giving up on this diet altogether.
I like the soup, its tasty, filling, easy to make, and a so-called negative calorie food,
so
you can eat, and are encouraged to eat as much of it as you like.
These
are good things. Just remember, if you decide to start this diet, to listen to your body. If you experience any side effects that you are really not comfortable with, stop! You didn't fail, not everything is right for every person's body. This diet is a short-term way to lose weight quickly, and shouldnt be done on a long-term basis. Most "experts" recommend a week or two on and a week or two off. For most people, food restrictive diets like this one will not work on their own. You will most likely get bored and sick of the soup and lose interest, so will go right back to eating the way you used to, and as soon as you start eating regular food again, you will gain the weight back. You need to change the way you think and feel about food permanently. Change your eating habits, and get on some sort of exercise program. The only way to lose weight and keep it off is with a healthy, but satisfying diet you can live with forever, and GET MOVING.. you have to do some sort of exercise, even if its just a walk around your the kitchen table for 15 minutes a day. There are no magic pills or potions, and no easy fix. But if you find a diet that and exercise combination that's right for you, it doesnt have to be torture either. diet tips / negative calorie foods/ diet facts/ Weight Watchers |
